Cottage Restoration
Since the mid 1990s Tinker Swiss Cottage Museum has taken many steps to restore the interior of the historic Cottage to its original appearance. As part of those efforts the Museum hired conservation firm EverGreene Painting Studios to stabilize and restore the decorative murals in the dining room, parlor, sitting room and front hall.

Using historical documentation,
paint analysis and techniques for exposing earlier layers of paint, EverGreene
was able to determine the original designs and colors of the murals, clean them
of dirt, repair cracks, and restore the painted ceilings and walls to their
appearance in the 1870s.
