Hukilau
August 5, 2016      6:00 PM- 8:00 PM

Come and join Tinker Swiss Cottage Museum for Tinker’s Hukliau on  August 5, 2016 from  6:00 – 8:00 pm. This event takes place at Klehm  Arboretum and celebrates a part of the Tinker family’s unusual past!

Robert Tinker, former Rockford mayor and builder of the  Cottage, was born in the Hawaiian Islands and visited throughout his life. The museum celebrates this part of Mr. Tinker’s history  and is proud of the culture contained in the Cottage.

Our Hukilau is a night of tropical Hawaiian food and entertainment by Aloha Chicago where you will be introduced to the various dances of the Polynesian Islands including Hawaii, Tahiti, Samoa and New Zealand. There will be beautiful costume changes, amazing hula dance prop performance, stunning male drummer performer, a fire dance and fun audience participation. So come, enjoy a night of festive  entertainment!

*All proceeds benefit the preservation and conservation of the historic Tinker Swiss Cottage and its collections.*
