John Audubon at Tinker Swiss Cottage!

Join us Sunday, September 22nd from 2-4pm for a unique experience at Tinker Swiss Cottage Museum!
Guests will begin with an exclusive sneak peek of our new Audubon exhibit, along with an engaging meet and greet with John James Audubon interpreter, the ever talented Brian "Fox" Ellis (https://www.foxtalesint.com/). Additionally, guests will have the opportunity to see a live peregrine falcon, the official city bird of Rockford, and learn more about this fascinating species. Afterward, enjoy a walking tour led by Jennifer Kuroda, President of the Sinnissippi Audubon Society. The tour is approximately 2.66 miles, an easy walk on paved surfaces. We recommend wearing comfortable walking shoes and bringing a water bottle. Tickets are $15 per person. All proceeds will be equally split between Tinker Swiss Cottage Museum and the Sinnissippi Audubon Society. |
Robert Tinker's Downtown Walking Tour

Welcome to Robert Tinker's World! Join Tinker Swiss Cottage as we follow in the footsteps of former Rockford Mayor and Park District Commissioner, Robert Hall Tinker and his family.
We will see the exterior of many of the homes, businesses, and public buildings that the Tinker family enjoyed visiting while they inhabited the Swiss Cottage. Along the way you will learn to recognize a number of different architectural styles and deepen your knowledge of history regarding the Forest City. Come see downtown Rockford through the eyes of the Victorians on August 24th from 10-11:30am! Tours start and end at the Rockford Park District Webbs Norman Center (). For those interested, please join us afterwards at Rockford Roasting Company for specialty "Tinker" beverages available for purchase. This is an approximately 1.5-mile walking tour with some uneven ground. Please wear appropriate walking shoes to this event. |

Come see southwest Rockford through the eyes of the Victorians on June 22nd from 10-11:30am! Tours start and end at the Barn. This is an approximately 1.5-mile walking tour with some uneven ground. Please wear appropriate walking shoes to this event. A first-floor tour of the Cottage will conclude this walking tour. **Please note: There are no physical tickets. Once you purchase your spot, you will be placed onto a reservation form and will need to check in at the Barn upon arrival. |
